1. What is BRANDING?

Branding is by definition a "recognizable type of something". It is the combination of a name, organization, the expectations, product or service, feelings, symbol, and a PROMISE!

It is a complex process, but its goal is simple: Branding is the creation and development of a specific identity for a company, product, commodity, group, or person. It is carefully designed to present qualities that its creators believe will be attractive to the public, and it is meant to be developed and perpetuated for the long haul. An ad campaign launches a product. Branding, when it's done right, creates an institution.

The best way to illustrate the concept of Branding is to look at the car market. Everyone knows instinctively the difference between a Chevrolet and a BMW. And it's not just a matter of price: Consumers will describe a Chevy as reliable and comfortable, while a BMW will be described as exciting, luxurious, and brilliantly engineered. We know the personality of a BMW or a Chevy without necessarily being able to articulate it. There's a difference between Coca-Cola and Pepsi. There's a difference between CBS and Fox. THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE BRANDING!

When AROD starts a project, we ask a simple question: What 3 adjectives best describe the feeling or overall impression you want to leave your customer with?

This helps in the development and understanding of a company's brand.

2. How long does it take to build a website?

Assuming we have no delays, we can typically go from discovery to delivery within eight weeks of engaging on a project. Of course if there are a high number of pages to the site, extensive amounts of Flash, Shopping carts, large photo galleries, or feature development it can take longer to complete.

3. What is Flash animation?

Flash is a software application that allows developers to create sites that are interactive. Oftentimes Flash can be used to bring your site to life. Image transitions, scrolling messages, mouse-over design changes, animated banners, even clickable icons that move and respond are some of the things being done with this technology. We recommend creating websites that use Flash with subtlety. Pages can come to life with the slideshow of great images. Moving elements can leave an imprint on the mind of your visitor that brings them back.

4. How much content should I provide for my homepage?

Determining how much you say on your site can have as much of an impact as what you choose to say. We strive for a clean aesthetic on a site that is easy to use. Homepages should say what they need to say simply and with impact. Secondary or internal pages can contain more text to support the goals of the website.

5. Do I have to have AROD Web Design provide my hosting in addition to the website work?

We offer our clients 100% autonomy when it comes to hosting control and web file ownership. We are comfortable working with most hosting providers, and we can continue to maintain your site after launch as well. We also can provide you with a suitable solution for a very reasonable price and handle the setup for you if you wish. You will still maintain ownership, however.

6. Will AROD Web Design assist me with my website after it goes live?

We proudly stand behind all of our work and offer a standard 15 day warranty after your website is launched. If you need changes or updates made to your site which falls outside of your warranty, we are happy to provide a quote for another phase of work or provide updates at our hourly billing rate.
